LAKE PLACID, NY -- Preliminary reports are in from the NTSB on a July small plane crash near Lake Placid, New York that killed a Michigan man. Those reports say it was a runway mishap that caused the plane to crash upon landing on July 19th.
Twenty-five-year-old Reed Phillips of Midland was one of three people on the plane. All three were killed in the crash. Phillips was a student at Clarkson University in upstate New York.
The NTSB reports conclude the plane Phillips was travelling in was one of two planes that were trying to land at the same time from opposite directions.
