CENTREVILLE (WKZO) -- Here is a new scam that St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Deputies say you should watch out for.
They received a complaint from a resident that he had gotten a call from someone pretending to be from his bank, indicating their debit card had been temporarily locked.
The caller then demanded that the victim press a combination of numbers that would transfer him to a call center.
Deputies say don’t press any numbers and hang up.
If you really want to be sure, call your bank and tell them what happened.
They will be able to tell you whether it was a scam.
