MARSHALL (WKZO) -- The sun is being blamed for causing a fatal car/pedestrian collision in Marshall last Saturday that has now resulted in the death of a jogger.
The Michigan State Police accident reconstruction team is working with the Sheriff’s Department to sort out what happened.
The driver, 84-year-old Donald Hunt of Athens told investigators that he was blinded by the sun and did not see 43-year-old Hong Yu Wang Boley as she jogged along West Hughes St. in Marshall.
She was airlifted to Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo, where she was pronounced dead Monday afternoon.
Alcohol and speed were not factors. They are trying to determine if Boley was running with or against traffic.
