GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- Is this what they mean by the dog days of summer?
Two summers ago, we spent more days above 90 than below it.
The forecasters are telling us the hottest days of summer are just ahead thanks to a warm moist front that is going to combine to raise the heat index.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Bill Marino in Grand Rapids thinks the really hot weather will hold off until Monday, and even then it will only be in the low 90’s, but we well get close this weekend.
He says the front is moving slower than they originally forecast.
He says this summer has been unusually cool by weather forecast standards, but by human standards, a good description might be “unusually comfortable”.
However, that description may not apply this weekend.
