SOUTH HAVEN TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- There will be a detour between you and the closest Lake Michigan beach if you live in Kalamazoo and it couldn't come at the worst time, on what may be the hottest weekend this summer.
MDOT had hoped to have work done on the M-43 Roundabout near South Haven this week but inclement weather has slowed construction.
MDOT’S Nick Schrippa says the work will now take until Wednesday to complete at the important crossroads.
The agency is in the process of replacing the entire base of the roundabout, and also repairing the concrete on a six mile stretch of M43 nearby.
Once they're finished with it, the newly reconstructed roundabout should last for 20 years.
