Tiger defeat gets ugly and then gets worse


MINNEAPOLIS  (WKZO) -- The Twins exploded for 20 runs and 20 hits on the way to a 20-6 beat down of the Tigers at Target Field Friday night.

Danny Santana drove in four and hit a two-run dinger in the win while Joe Mauer plated three runs. Trevor Plouffe hit a solo shot and added three RBI and Oswaldo Arcia also chipped in two-run bomb.

Eduardo Escobar collected five hits and cranked a two-run home run for the Twins, who have won two straight.

Ryan Pressly got the win in relief.

Robbie Ray took the loss for the Tigers after lasting just an-inning-and-a-third and giving up six runs.

Ian Kinsler hit a solo shot in the loss while Victor Martinez added an RBI. \

The Tigers and the Twinkies play a double header Saturday.
