ROCKFORD (WKZO) -- The family of Army veteran Michael Van Holstyn of Rockford has announced that the 26-year-old will be buried at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta after services this weekend.
He was killed when his motorcycle slammed into a car driven by an elderly driver, who pulled out in front of him at an intersection in Coopersville last Wednesday.
Van Holstyn had completed his last tour in Afghanistan in December.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, and his funeral will be held Saturday.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at The Pederson Funeral Home in Rockford.
Services will be held August 30th at Blythefield Hills Baptist Church.
Burial at Fort Custer will be the following Tuesday, September 2nd at 2 p.m.
