Tibbits Summer Theatre receives almost a dozen award nominations

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Tibbits Summer Theatre received plenty of recognition in the recently announced nominations for the Wilde Awards, Michigan's regional version of the Tony Awards for which the theatre received a total of 11 nominations and 2 honorable mention recognitions, covering the past two seasons of Summer Theatre. This is the 13th year for the awards but only the fifth year they've included theatres out of the metro Detroit area.

In the “Best Musical” category, Guys and Dolls with director Trinity Bird was nominated. In “Best Performance by an Actor”, John Payonk in Fiddler on the Roof, Brian Sage and Chad Tallon in The Producers were nominated, while Tyler Whiteman was Honorable Mention for Guys and Dolls.

Catherine Skojec was nominated as “Best Performance by an Actress” for Guys and Dolls. In theBest Teamwork” category, Richard Baker and Joey Gugliemelli for The Producers and Tony Milder and Chad Tallon for Greater Tuna were nominated. “Best Choreography” nominees are Aisling Halpin for Guys and Dolls, Kevin Halpin for The Producers, and Kevin Halpin also Honorable Mention for A Chorus Line.

A “Best Design – Costume” nomination went to Xiachen Zhou for Guys and Dolls;, while Cheryl VanDuzen received a “Best Music Direction” nomination for The Producers.
