VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) -- A malnourished and badly bruised 11-year-old who claims he was never fed, beaten by a belt and a strap, and often clamped to the floor, managed to escape and now two suspects are in custody.
He was found by a passerby early Tuesday morning as he limped, bruised and hungry along a rural road near Bangor.
The boy weighs just 57 pounds.
Deputies say that the boy’s injuries are consistent with his story and went to the Mobile home where the boy lived to investigate.
Investigators say they found the plumber’s tape he claimed was used to clamp his wrists to the floor. Normally its used to attach pipes to beams.
Police have charged Randall Hamilton, and his 46-year-old Mother, Peggy with first degree child abuse and child torture.
Bond was set at a million dollars each. The young victim’s 2-year-old brother was also removed from the home.
