TEXAS TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- A Kalamazoo County man has been charged with attempted murder after a disagreement turned violent. .
It started with a verbal argument with an acquaintance that escalated into a slugfest with two-by-fours and nearly ended when Kalamazoo County Deputies say the 53-year-old James Cubitt shot his adversary in the leg with a gun Wednesday.
That began a 7-hour stand-off with deputies at a home on O Ave.
Cubitt eventually surrendered and now faces charges that could put him away for life.
He is being held on 100-thousand dollars bond for attempted murder and three gun felonies.
