KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Western Michigan University will become the latest in the nation to ban smoking from campus as the new semester begins.
Until now, smokers could still duck just outside to inhale a little nicotine between classes.
Beginning Monday, the only place a smoker will be permitted to light up on campus will be inside their own car.
The ban applies to all forms of smoking and tobacco, including the new electronic cigarettes.
Only a handful of people have taken the university up on its offer to pay for smoking cessation programs and products.
They expect that to pick-up now that the ban is taking effect.
