BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- Battle Creek is in search of both an interim and a permanent Chief of Police, after the retirement of Jackie Hampton.
It seems that Deputy Chief Jim Saylor may be leaving soon himself and says it wouldn’t be in the best interests of the welfare of the city to take the top post, even on a temporary basis.
Saylor is eligible for retirement himself this summer and says he is currently exploring other employment opportunities. He will remain the Deputy Chief for now.
Manager Ken Tuchiyama is exploring other options.
