KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The City of Kalamazoo is working on a new strategy to get residents to move their cars off city streets when snow emergencies occur.
Those big trucks need plenty of room for the blades to reach the curbs after snow storms, like the 3 to 5 inches expected to fall tonight.
Manager Jim Ritsema reported to City Commissioners Monday evening that last week’s declared traffic emergency didn’t work.
He says they need something on the books that they can publicize and he will be working with the City Attorney to draft either a new policy or a new ordinance.
The City of Kalamazoo already has odd-even parking on some residential streets but not all of them.
