The Farm Bill has been approved in Washington but will be signed in Michigan

EAST LANSING (WKZO) -- We now know why President Barack Obama is coming to East Lansing on Friday.

He will be signing that massive trillion dollar Farm Bill that was approved by the U.S. Senate Tuesday.

It’s appropriate because Michigan State University is Senator Debbie Stabenow’s alma-mater and also because MSU is a Land Grant College established to promote the education of agriculture, science and engineering.

Some of the money from the Farm Bill will be coming to MSU to promote continued research into new uses for plant fibers and chemicals.

The President will tour those facilities and make remarks on the importance of the Farm Bill during his visit to Michigan State University.
