EAST LANSING, (WTVB) - Ninth-ranked Michigan State was far from healthy last night but the Spartans still had no problem pounding Penn State 82-67 at the Breslin Center. Freshman Kenny Kaminski led the way with 19 points including five of MSU’s dozen 3-pointers. Adreian Payne played for the first time in a month and chipped in with 12 points and Gary Harris had 14 in the win. The 20-3 Spartans improved their Big Ten record to 9-1 and are tied with Michigan atop the conference.
Michigan State was without star guard Keith Appling because of an injured wrist. Payne missed the previous seven games with a right foot sprain while Branden Dawson is still out with a broken hand. Coming up Sunday, it’s Michigan State at Wisconsin.
