PORTAGE (WKZO) -- Portage City Manager Maurice Evans has announced he will be retiring at the end of March.
That doesn’t give the City Council much time to find his replacement.
He doesn’t give any reason for his decision to retire at the age of 62, after spending 8-years in the top administrative post in Portage.
Mayor Peter Strazdas says he has done a stellar job, and will be tough to replace.
Strazdas says they will follow the City Charter and conduct the search in a transparent manner.
Evan's last day on the job will be April Fools Day.
