PORTAGE (WKZO) -- For the second time in as many days, a black male brandishing a knife has robbed a business near U.S. 131.
Sunday morning it was the Shell Station on West Main across from the Maple Hill shopping plaza. The robber who was about 5’10” walked in, demanded money from the clerk, grabbed the cash and ran for a car in a nearby parking lot.
Portage police say Monday, a black male who was about 5’10” walked up to the Counter at the Harding’s on Centre Avenue, flashed a knife at the clerk and demanded money. He then grabbed the cash and headed for a car in the parking lot.
Only the description of the clothes he was wearing was a little different.
Portage police say their robber was wearing a dark scarf and hat, but both wore dark jackets.
Police haven't said whether they suspect it was the same robber but its worth investigating.
