EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) - 9th-ranked Michigan State and number-15 Michigan both went down to defeat at home yesterday with the losses keeping them tied atop the Big Ten Conference with 10-3 league records. MSU missed its chance to grab sole possession of first place when they were upset by Nebraska 60-51. The Spartans shot 5-for-24 from 3-point range in the loss and only 34% from the field overall. Michigan State has dropped 4 of 7 since winning 11 straight games.
Number-21 Wisconsin stopped Michigan 75-62. The Badgers led Michigan 34-19 at the half before the Wolverines cut the deficit to 3 after the break. But Wisconsin regained control for the victory and for the second time in a game this season committed only two turnovers. The Wolverines have the rest of the week off now before hosting Michigan State next Sunday.
