BRANCH COUNTY (WKZO) -- State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Coldwater Township Saturday afternoon that could result in charges.
They say 75-year-old Bobby King of Coldwater was westbound on U.S.12 when he slowed to make a left turn at Nash Road and was rear-ended by a semi-truck.
The impact of the collision sent King’s car across the centerline and into oncoming traffic, where it slammed into a vehicle driven by a 64-year-old Robin Shaw of Coldwater.
Ms. Shaw was treated for minor injuries and released, her son was a passenger but was not injured.
King was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-driver was not injured.
Troopers say it doesn’t appear that drugs or alcohol were involved, but will forward their investigation to the Branch County prosecutor to determine if charges are warranted.
