MONTGOMERY, MI (WTVB) - Funeral services have been set for a Branch County man killed this week in a logging accident  that happened on New Year’s Eve afternoon in Bethel Township. The victim, 41-year old Billy Keegan of Montgomery, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Keegan and his teenage son were working a tree cutting job when a limb struck the father in the head. The son called 9-1-1 to report the accident shortly after four p.m. Tuesday.

Keegan was a graduate of Quincy high school and an avid outdoorsman.  Services for Billy Dean Keegan will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading. Visitation is set for Sunday 1-3 and 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Billy’s family or a charity of the donor’s choice.
