KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- After several delays to elicit more public comment, and the cancelation of last week’s meeting due to subzero temperatures, the Kalamazoo City Commission is set once again to try and approve their 2014 City Budget.
The 143-million dollar spending plan includes a 54-million dollar general fund budget. That budgets calls for the elimination of several positions and budget cuts in several departments, and dipping into reserve funds to erase a deficit and balance the books.
It also includes some fee hikes for parks and recreation programs.
The Millage rate will remain the same as last year.
The Commission meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
