Red Wings fall at Anaheim Sunday night 1-0

ANAHEIM, CA (WTVB) - The Red Wings put up a tough fight last night against the NHL’s top team but came up short at Anaheim where the Ducks downed Detroit 1-0. Jonas Hiller won his club-record 14th straight start thanks to a 22-save shutout, as the Ducks earned their seventh consecutive victory. The Red Wings went 0-for-5 on the power play and they’re 0-for-21 on the power play in their last 5 games. Petr Mrazek took the loss with 22 stops in goal for Detroit. Mrazek was subbing for Jimmy Howard, who was bothered by a sore hip flexor. The Red Wings are 2-2 so far on this 5 game road trip, which wraps up Thursday against the New York Rangers.

In minor league hockey, in the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings lost 4-2 last night at Ft. Wayne.
