LANSING (WKZO) -- Education advocacy group StudentsFirst ranks Michigan in the top ten nationally in its policy report card.
The report gives the state high marks for its teacher evaluation system and allowing districts to contract out services to save money. However, it doesn't fair well for school choice and charter school funding.
The report recommends the state establish an A to F report card system to help parents and policymakers evaluate school performance. It says the current color-coded system is confusing.
