Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Max Scherzer tips his cap after leaving the game in the sixth inning during Game 4 of the MLB ALCS baseball

DETROIT, MI (WTVB) -Detroit’s reigning American League Cy Young award winner Max Scherzer was among six Tigers and 146 major league players overall who filed Tuesday for salary arbitration. In  13-years as Detroit’s general manager, Dave Dombrowski has always been able to find a way to settle and avoid any arbitration hearings. That could change with the 29-year old Scherzer, who looks to be in line for a hefty pay increase and reportedly could make as much as $13.6 million in 2014 after earning $6.725 milion last year.
