Green Bay Women lose at Youngstown State

(WNFL) - It's an off-year for the U-W Green Bay women's basketball team -- and it continued last night with a 66-to-57 loss at Youngstown State.  The Phoenix are normally starting to roll in Horizon League play and get into the national rankings about now.  Instead, they've dropped their second straight conference game for the first time in 14 years.  Green Bay was out-shot 43-to-28 percent in the first half, when the Phoenix scored a season-low 18 points.  It was part of a drought in which Green Bay failed to make a field goal in a 12-and-a-half minute stretch spanning the two halves.  Youngstown State out-shot the Phoenix 45-to-31 percent for the game.  Green Bay did have seven more rebounds, and they forced two more turnovers than the Penguins.  There were a combined 46 turnovers and 51 fouls.  Megan Lukan led Green Bay with 19 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.  Jenna Hirsch scored 20 for Youngstown State, which is now 3-and-0 in the conference and 7-and-9 overall.  The Phoenix dropped to 1-and-2 in the league and 8-and-7 overall.  They'll play at Cleveland State tomorrow.
