BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) --Over five-dozen brave souls took the Polar Plunge in Battle Creek on Saturday.
They gathered at Goguac Lake near a hole sawed in the ice by the County Sheriff’s department, with emergency personnel on hand.
It was all in good fun and for a good cause. They raised over eight-thousand dollars for Special Olympics.
It was the third of 30-similar events scheduled around the state to raise funds for the organization, which provides athletic competitions for 19,600 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Kalamazoo County will hold a Polar Plunge on January 22nd.
