LANSING (WKZO) -- Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway is scared for her safety because she is afraid she is serving time in the same prison as some of the inmates she sentenced, prior to her election to the State’s Highest Court.

Her attorney has filed a motion asking the courts to let her out of prison early.

Hathaway's solution is either early release or home detention for the final six months of her sentence.

Hathaway was sentenced to a year in prison last May for a real estate scheme that cheated her bank out of thousands of dollars.
