KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Monday is the Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday but the celebration began Sunday.
Kalamazoo’s Northside Ministerial Alliance held a Celebration of his life and work at the Galilee Baptist Church..
They filled all the seats with local dignataries and residents.
The City of Kalamazoo and the Volunteer Center is sponsoring a Day of Service on Monday. Hundreds of volunteers will spend part of the day doing one-day projects at non-profit agencies around Kalamazoo.
A Convocation will be held at Stetson Chapel at Kalamazoo College beginning at 10:50 a.m. Monday.
A March to King Park will begin at the Flagpoles on the WMU Campus at 3:30 p.m. and wind down through the downtown winding up at Martin Luther King Park on North Rose.
