GROSSE ILE (WKZO) -- According to FBI Crime data compiled by Movoto Real Estate, the safest city in Michigan is Grosse Ile Township.
The statistics show that there were no violent crimes reported in Grosse Ile in 2012. There were only 89 crimes reported and the majority involved property theft. The list of safest cities studied those communities with a population of ten-thousand residents or more.
Ann Arbor ranked 50th, Kalamazoo Township 55th, Portage 60th, Holland 77th, Lansing 84th, Grand Rapids 85th, and the city of Kalamazoo 91st. At the very bottom of the list, Detroit ranked 100th, Flint 101st, and Benton Harbor 102nd.
