Taylor Swift is a quadruple nominee going into this Sunday's Grammy Awards, but she's campaigning for someone else to win: her friend and duet and touring partner Ed Sheeran , who's up for Best New Artist.
"I want him to win everything he's ever up for," she tells Billboard. "He's one of my favorite people on the planet. And he's so talented and he's worked so hard for it."
Besides that, Taylor says everyone would enjoy seeing the British singer speak at the podium on Grammy night. "I think he would have amazing acceptance speeches," she gushes. "We toured together all year and I watched him every single night. He was just such a show-stopper."
She also predicts further success for Ed, who's slated to release his second album at some point this year. "It was so amazing to watch him work and to watch him put together his new record, which is going to be great," Taylor tells Billboard. "Whether or not he wins Best New Artist, I think people are going to be so blown away by what comes next from him."
Coincidentally, if Ed does win "everything" he's up for, that means Taylor will be a winner as well. If Taylor's album Red wins Album of the Year, Ed will get a Grammy too, because he's a featured artist on the project.
In fact, this exact same scenario played out just a few years ago, with Colbie Caillat . When Taylor's album Fearless was named Album of the Year, Colbie got a Grammy as well because of "Breathe," the duet she did with Taylor on that album.
