LANSING (WKZO) -- It’s not too late to get a flu shot, and it may be particularly important if you have other chronic medical issues or are obese.
State Health Dept. Spokesperson Angela Minicuci says hew statistics just released show that young adults are getting ill at higher rates, partly because only 1 in 10 are protected.’
Those with underlying conditions have a greater chance of dying.
She says the big difference between this year and 2009, when the H1N1 caused a pandemic is the fact that there is a vaccine for it this year.
She says there is plenty of vaccine available, and alternatives like The Flu Mist if you don’t like shots.
