GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- A couple are dead and investigators are blaming poor road conditions. .
Ottawa County Deputies say 53-year-old Gaylee Burns was northbound on Mercury Drive just after 8 p.m. Saturday when she slid out of control on the icy road surface.
Deputies say her car slid across the centerline turning sideways and was struck broad-side in the passenger side by a pick-up truck coming in the opposite direction.
Mrs. Burns was pronounced dead at the scene.
55-year-old Lewis Burns Jr. had to be cut out of the wreckage. He was taken to Emergency and listed in critical condition overnight, dying from his injuries Sunday.
The driver of the pick-up, 47-year-old Scott Miller was not injured.
There have been a lot of slideoffs and snow related fender benders, but most of them haven't resulted in injury or death.
