PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTVB) - The Red Wings losing streak at Philadelphia grew to 8 games last night as the Flyers blanked Detroit 5-0 at the Wells Fargo Center. Jonas Gustavsson turned away 23 shots in defeat for the Red Wings. He started again in net in place of Jimmy Howard, who was back on the bench after missing 3 games with a knee injury. Flyer’s goalie Steve Mason made 33 saves for the shutout. Detroit’s next game is at home Friday against Washington.
The Red Wings will be without forward Johan Franzen, who has been placed back on injured reserve after he had a recurrence of concussion-like symptoms in his return to the lineup for Sunday’s shootout loss against Florida.
