BUFFALO, NY (WTVB) - Western Michigan couldn’t keep up with the Bulls last night in Buffalo where the Broncos went down to defeat 84-63. Shayne Whittington had 13 points in the loss, which dropped WMU’s record to 11-8 including 4-3 in Mid-American Conference play. The Broncos will host arch rival Central Michigan Saturday afternoon.
Two Big Ten ranked teams saw their struggles continue last night. Number-14 Wisconsin was stunned at home, losing 65-56 to Northwestern. And 24th-ranked Ohio State was also upset at home, falling in overtime 71-70 to Penn State.
Tonight, number-10 Michigan shoots for its tenth straight win while trying to stay undefeated atop the Big Ten with the Wolverines hosting Purdue at Crisler Center. Michigan is off to its best start in conference play since opening 8-0 in the 1976-77 season. The Wolverines are 7-0 in the Big Ten and 15-4 overall.
