CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO) -- The Red Cross has closed its shelter in Battle Creek, and Consumers Energy is hoping to wrap up repairs on their system today following stormy weather earlier this week that left thousands without power.
The City of Battle Creek has announced that they will hold a special brush collection on Monday to help homeowners get rid of fallen tree branches.
They want branches tied up in four foot long bundles, none of them weighing more than 50-pounds. Residents who want to dispose of their wastes and can haul them can get rid of it at Brice Pit, the city’s composting center at 715 West River Road.
There is more information at Battle Creek’s website if you need to have larger branches and trunks removed.
