BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- A motorcyclist suffering serious injuries was airlifted to Borgess Medical Center after he was struck by a van.
It happened near Porter Street and North Raymond Road in Battle Creek just after 3:30 Monday afternoon.
The driver of the van told police he was watching for traffic on the left to clear, and did not see the motorcycle on the right as he made his turn and crashed into the bike, throwing the rider to the ground.
The 46-year-old biker was not wearing a helmet and suffered head injuries.
He was strapped to a backboard and loaded onto the Air Care chopper for the ride to Kalamazoo.
The victim’s name and condition have not been released.
