LANSING (WKZO) -- Michiganders have wasted no time signing up for the expanded Medicaid program offered as part of Obamacare.

Health Dept. Spokesperson Angela Minicuci says they have just reached the goal of 322-thousand new sign ups, a goal they didn’t expect to reach for another six months.
Income levels for eligibility were raised to permit more of the working poor to qualify for the free healthcare coverage which is being funded by the federal government.
The Michigan Department of Health says as many as half a million Michiganders may be eligible for the program.
