WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) -- Congressman Mike Rogers wants the federal government to send undocumented children crossing the border from Mexico into the United States back to Central America.

The Livingston County Republican tells NBC's "Meet the Press" that sending the children home would end their exploitation from gangs and drug cartels. There are plans being drafted now, however, to bring some of the underage illegal immigrants to the Thumb area in Michigan and put them up in Vassar.

Congressional Republicans are hinting they want to tweak a 2008 anti-trafficking law passed unanimously with kids in mind before they approve any border protection funding requested by President Obama.
