ST. JOSEPH COUNTY (WKZO) -- They searched all day Sunday for a 65-year-old man who is presumed drowned in the St. Joseph River near Constantine, but could not find the body.
The victim's son says they went fishing late Saturday night, his dad stood up in the boat, lost his balance and the boat capsized, throwing them both into the water.
The son was able to make it to shore after trying to rescue the older man, but he says the currents were too strong.
The County Dive team used 12-man shifts and sonar to search about a 500 yard long stretch of the river as it takes a sharp bend around Oxbow Road, but they were hampered by poor visibility in the water.
They were able to find the boat and some of the items that were in the boat, but not the older man.
The search will resume Monday morning.
