ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) - Wednesday revealed that when the Lions hold their first training camp practice on Monday, 3 players won’t be on the field after being placed yesterday on the physically unable to perform, or PUP list. They are wide receivers Golden Tate and TJ Jones and defensive end Ziggy Ansah, all still dealing with shoulder injuries. None of them are expected to still be on the PUP list when the regular season begins. If they are, they’d have to sit out the first six weeks.
Ansah had shoulder surgery in February and has not practiced this spring. Tate injured his shoulder during OTA's in May and did not take part in the minicamp in June. And Jones, a rookie, had arthroscopic surgery last month to repair an injury he suffered in college. They can still be at training camp taking part in work out dills but practicing with the team isn’t allowed.
Detroit’s first exhibition game is August Ninth at home against the Cleveland Browns.
