KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Public Safety reports that 19-year-old DeQuan Priichett walked into Public Safety Headquarters last evening and was immediately arrested.
Warrants were issued for his arrest Saturday morning, naming him as the prime suspect in the shooting death of 19-year-old Christopher Lee Adams.
Known as “Quan” by his friends, he is being held on open murder and felony firearm charges.
Captain Victor Ledbetter says Pritchett fled the scene of a gunfight Wednesday evening on Mt. Olivet with his weapon.
The news released does not say whether his gun has been recovered.
Apparently a second gunman has been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder and felony firearms, and may have been the other gunman in the shootout. He was arrested last Wednesday night.
Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100, www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
