MATTAWAN (WKZO) -- A Mattawan man who apparently just doesn’t know when to give up, will face new charges after barricading himself inside his car for over four hours yesterday behind a business on Red Arrow Highway.
They knew he had access to guns.
He tried to flee after officers arrived to arrest him on outstanding warrants for fleeing and eluding and resisting in Kalamazoo on a previous occasion.
After communicating with him for hours through On-Star and bull horns, State Police flushed him out with tear gas.
By this time, the 33-year-old had already tried to drive his way to freedom, denting squad cars that had him pinned.
Now he may also be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, for allegedly ramming the squad cars while officers were inside.
