WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) -- Michigan's U.S. Senators are again imploring the White House to do something to halt the spread of the Asian carp.
Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow are chair and vice-chair respectively of the Great Lakes Task Force. They are joined by Senators from Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and New York in a letter sent to White House Council on Environmental Quality Asian Carp Director John Goss in again saying that "urgent action is needed" to prevent the spread of the invasive species.
The Senators are requesting immediate action of some kind be taken to be followed by discussions on short, medium, and long-term solutions to keep the Asian Carp out of the Great Lakes.
