LOS ANGELES, CA (WTVB) - The Los Angeles Kings are three wins away from capturing the Stanley Cup. The Kings scored the game-winning goal in overtime last night to clip the New York Rangers 3-2 in Game One of the Stanley Cup Final at the Staples Center. Game Two of the best-of-seven series is Saturday, again in Los Angeles.

Grand Rapids Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill has agreed to a new three-year contract with the Red Wings AHL affiliate.  Detroit general manager Ken Holland announced the signing yesterday, saying Blashill is an important person in the organization. He was an assistant on Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock's staff in 2011-12 before being moved to Grand Rapids, and was named AHL coach of the year last season.  Holland is also looking to sign Babcock, who has one year left on his contract, to a new deal this summer.
