BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) - An audit has revealed a bit more encouraging news for veterans who use the V-A hospital in Battle Creek. More than two-dozen VA facilities in Michigan were audited as part of a nationwide review. Of those, three have been flagged for further review but Battle Creek wasn’t one of them.
The VA center in Ann Arbor along with the outpatient clinics in Lansing and Muskegon have raised some red flags in the eyes of the auditors although most of the details regarding those concerns have not yet been released. There is speculation that the Ann Arbor facility may have been flagged because there were more appointments scheduled outside of a 30-day time frame there than any other VA facility in the state. The goal of the VA is to schedule appointments within 14-days.
As of May 15th this year, 96% of the appointments scheduled for the Battle Creek V-A facility were set for 30 days or under.
