KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) - Immigration remains a hot button issue and the latest includes a 12-year-old Southwest Michigan boy being among the protestors arrested yesterday in the office of House Speaker John Boehner, refusing to leave until the House took a vote on immigration reform.
Estaban Verdugo of Kalamazoo saw his father deported last year, even though the rest of the family are American citizens. He says they fear the same thing could happen to their step-dad. He says they were all handcuffed with plastic ties and placed in a holding cell. They say they aren’t giving up on the issue, even if the analysts say the defeat of Eric Cantor Tuesday has killed reform for this session.
