WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO) -- A 12-year-old boy from Kalamazoo was among the protestors arrested yesterday in the office of House Speaker John Boehner, refusing to leave until the House took a vote on Immigration Reform.
Estaban Verdugo’s father was deported last year, even though the rest of the family are American Citizens.
He says they fear the same thing could happen to their step-dad. He says anytime there is a knock on the door, it could be Immigration and Customs.
He says they were all handcuffed with plastic ties and placed in a holding cell for three hours and then released.
They say they aren’t giving up on the issue, even if the analysts say the defeat of Eric Cantor Tuesday has killed reform for this session.
They say the analysts were wrong about Cantor’s reelection, they could be wrong about this.
