BRONSON, MI (WTVB) - 4 people were injured, but none seriously, Monday afternoon in a 3-car crash, including a head on collision, on U.S. 12 in Branch County’s Bethel Township. Sheriff’s Deputies say speed and in car distractions caused the at-fault driver to rear-end another east bound car that was waiting to turn onto Wildlife Road and forced it into the path of a west bound vehicle. 19-year old Isiah Osborne was cited for speed too fast causing inability to stop in a sure clear distance. There were 3 passengers in his car. 29-year old Tristan Ferry was behind the wheel of the car that was struck from behind. The other vehicle involved in the head-on was driven by 20-year old Mohamed Alslehay. Everyone in the accident was from Coldwater.
The three drivers and one of the passengers were all treated and released from the Community Health Center of Branch County. The news release said the impact from the head on was so great that both cars ended up on opposite sides of the roadway in ditch areas. It also indicated that seat belts and air bag deployments saved lives and minimized the injuries.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Bronson Fire Department, the County Road Commission and Life Care Ambulance. The accident happened around 3:20 pm yesterday and U-S-12 was closed down between Central and Log Roads for nearly 2-and-a-half hours following the collision.
