KALAMAZOO (WKZO) --The official beginning of Spring is just a week away but you would never know it by looking out the window, as the Winter of 2014 has delivered another one-two punch to southern Michigan.
Yesterday it was the snow, more than half a foot fell in just a few hours overnight, forcing schools in the area to close again and making the morning commute a nightmare for drivers.
This morning it’s the cold. Temperatures dipped to near zero overnight in much of west Michigan with wind chills dipping below zero.
At least most of the main roads were clear and dry before the exceptionally frigid air arrived. A lot of the slush on side roads, rural roads and driveways has now frozen solid.
