iNDIANAPOLIS, IN (WTVB) - March Madness is set to tip off tomorrow with Michigan, Michigan State, and Western Michigan the three teams from Michigan in the NCAA Tournament field of 68 with all three playing their opening games on Thursday. Yesterday, Michigan State beat Michigan 69-55 to win the Big Ten Tournament title. Adreian Payne had 18 points and nine rebounds to carry the Spartans to the win.
MSU earned the fourth-seed in the East Region of the Big Dance and will take on Delaware in the first round at Spokane, Washington. (4:40pm) Michigan is the two-seed in the Midwest Region. The Wolverines will play Wofford, South Carolina at Milwaukee. (7:10pm)
And Mid-American Tournament champion Western Michigan is the number-14 seed in the South Region and opens up against #3 seed Syracuse at Buffalo (2:45pm). The number-one overall seed for the tournament is Florida, with Arizona, Wichita State and Virginia the other number-one seeds. Six Big Ten teams made the field.
The tournament starts with the "First Four" on Tuesday and Wednesday. The rest of the action gets started Thursday.
